CMR RULES and REGULATIONS - 2018

Contestant and Vehicle Eligibility

​

  1. Driver eligibility is at the discretion  of event organizers

  2. 17-year-old drivers or younger must have a valid driver’s license and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  3. All drivers and passengers must sign a waiver

  4. Only one passenger per vehicle

  5. Zero tolerance of drugs or alcohol during competition times. Any crew or driver found under the influence during the competition will cause the team to forfeit any placing, points, and prize money and will not be eligible to compete in the event.

  6. All Race vehicles must look presentable, lettering and graphics should not be offensive and will not be tolerated.

  7. Anyone under the age of 17 is not allowed in the pits or competition area during competition times without parent supervision

  8. Approval of the contestant vehicle by the Technical Inspector deems the vehicle worthy of participation in the event, this does not mean in any way the vehicle is guaranteed mechanically sound. Be it declared that neither the Technical Inspector and/or the Event sponsors shall not be liable for any mechanical failure of the said vehicle nor any accident or loss resulting from same, to spectators or participants.

  9. No entry fee will be returned after the tech inspection.

  10. All drivers and pit crew must attend driver's meetings when times are announced.

  11. Running order will be determined by the Local Organizing Committee.

  12. At the discretion of the Club on Race Day You may compete in more than one class but not above two classes.  You can only challenge in classes above your own, not below.  However, you must pay the entry fee for the challenged class, and meet all safety and vehicle requirements for that class.

  13. At the discretion of the Club on Race Day Two drivers of the same vehicle may compete in the same class with a maximum of 4 runs for that vehicle. (Each driver gets 2 runs)

  14. Three vehicles make up a class, not three drivers, if a vehicle is registered in a class and does not have sufficient competition they can be moved up to the next class.

  15. Classes may be removed or added at the event organizers discretion

  16. Classes will be divided up into the following classes:

 

Stock (S)

Super Stock (SS)

Pro Stock (PS)

Modified (M)

Super Modified (SM)

Open (O)

X Class (X)

 

General Safety

 

  1. All MUD Trucks will go through a technical inspection before registration by our designated inspector, any faults or safety concerns felt not fit for the competition will be dealt with on an individual basis.

  2. The technical Inspector reserves the right to question the driver with regards to the vehicle before, during, and after the event.

  3. ON RACE DAY - You may dispute an issue with your truck or another competitor’s truck, with the tech inspector and track official, but the tech inspector has the final decision!

  4. Any dispute will be referred to the Rule Committee, their decision will be final.

  5. Any fuel/oil-related products must be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner.

  6. No loose objects inside cab or box of the vehicle during competition

  7. All Crew and competition vehicles must be driven safely at all times, anyone found showboating will be asked to leave the competition.

  8. A 5 mph and slower speed limit is enforced in both the pits and staging areas.

  9. All Race teams adhere to acting fire marshal’s rules and regulations, DO NOT block any Fire or Emergency exits or Paths, have the right to park where they need to, and let them work in an emergency.

  10. Mud Pits to be constructed to a minimum depth of 18 inches

  11. It is highly recommended that organizers have a piece of equipment on location capable of lifting a mud truck up and out of the pit in a rollover situation. The operator is to be on-site, and near or on the machine during the event

  12. Local Organizing Committees are to supply appropriate fire extinguishers - located in the pit area. at least one halon fire extinguisher near the pit

 

Protective Clothing:

​

  1. Helmets are mandatory must be DOT approved.  Straps must have “D” rings.

  2. Regular coveralls or jeans and a shirt.

  3. Ankle-high footwear, lace-up boots are recommended!

  4. See Classes for proper PPE

  5. Neck Brace is recommended.

 

Vehicle Rules:

​

  1. All vehicles must have a solid tow point at the rear of the vehicle attached to the frame.  No chain bolted or welded to frame!

  2. All vehicles must supply their own 7/8” minimum clevis, if not you can purchase one!

  3. Driveshaft loops are required front and rear. (See class rules for options)

  4. U-joint Guards are required on any exposed u-joints, must be made from 1/4" steel, and encase u-joints (Pro-stock and up)

  5. Open top vehicles must have min 4 point roll bar, vehicles with a removable top with the top removed must have a roll bar.

  6. Minimum lap seat belt for both driver and passenger, See class rules

  7. 5 point harness is recommended but only with the roll cage.

  8. Fire extinguishers are required in the cab of race vehicle securely mounted. No wire or duct tape! Within reach of driver or passenger. (STOCK IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BUT OPTIONAL)

  9. Batteries must be mounted securely with factory hold-downs or metal straps no tarp straps. No tie-down… you don’t race!

  10. OEM Gas tanks and aftermarket fuel cells must be mounted securely.

  11. OEM Seats and aftermarket seats must be mounted securely

  12. Brakes must be in working order. The test will be performed on suspicion.

  13. Steering must be free of excessive play.

  14. Must have a functioning neutral start switch or clutch switch.

  15. All Classes must-have devices for keeping legs and arms inside the vehicle

  16. Dual throttle return springs are required.

  17. Must be a separating wall between power train and driver, cover all holes.

  18. Radiators may be relocated, (will not be counted as a modification) but all coolant lines hoses must be protected from the driver.

  19. Factory fuel injection or turbo allowed.

  20. All vehicles with exhaust above the bottom body line must face straight up or down!

  21. No exhaust, coolant hoses, fuel, and oil lines inside the passenger compartment!  Hydraulic steering is exempt but hoses must be shielded from the driver.

  22. No driveline made of muffler tubing, square tubing, or AG PTO Driveline.

  23. OEM and aftermarket exhaust, coolant, fuel, and oil lines must be securely mounted.

  24. Tire size will be determined by size stamped on the sidewall of the tire, no actual measurements will be made.

  25. If you have 5 point harness you must have a roll bar or roll cage (Cage: is a minimum of 4 points) (in all Classes)

  26. Transmission must have shield if running transmission brake

  27.  Altered cab vs Unaltered. Any altering of the OEM steel structure.

  28. ON RACE DAY - Tech inspectors have the final say on all rules and have the final say on any discrepancies.

  29. Any dispute will be referred to the Rule Committee, their decision will be final.

  30. Any disputes with an HP cap, the Rule Committee will decide if a rear-wheel Dyno is required.

  31. Aux Fuel Tanks (slip tanks) must be bolted to the frame and empty before entering tech.

Call out of Drivers- Safety Infraction: Any driver or event organizer may call out at safety infraction by the use of the protest form

Horsepower Callout: A vehicle may be called out if suspected of being over horsepower by a driver in the same class as the driver being called out. This callout may only happen in the event that the vehicle is in question.

Rule Committee- The Rule Committee is composed of 3 voting members from each Club. When a dispute is brought before the rule committee, the club that brings the complaint forward does not vote. When the committee decides that a wheel dyno is required, the results shall be obtained from the dyno parameters.

Dyno Parameters-  If a rear-wheel dyno is requested by the rule committee it shall follow these parameters

2.  Dyno Parameters are to be determined by the dyno operator.

 

Dyno Results- There is a 5% horsepower overage allowed on the top dyno number produced after a minimum of 5 pulls.

- If the dyno result is higher than the class limit, The RACER/OWNER will pay the dyno chargers and move to the appropriate class.

- If the dyno result is lower than the class limit, The PROTESTER will pay all dyno charges (driver/owner will provide receipt of payment
